Every third German citizen suffers from backaches. On top of that many people already suffer from this disease as a child. The SwingMed device is based on the principle of extension therapy, which is an important component of physiotherapeutic treatment. SwingMed was developed in collaboration with Univ.-Prof. Dr. Erich Mur (University of Innsbruck). The traditional extension therapy has been developed further and now includes a swinging motion therapy device. During the therapy specially padded protective supports are affixed to a patient’s lower legs while the patient will be pulled up slowly into three possible positions:
– lifted pelvis
– lifted trunk with shoulder contact to the underlay
– free hanging position

Through the device’s elastic and gentle lifting and rotation, the back is slowly stretched and relaxed. The process allows for the intervertebral discs to experience relief and in the best case this leads to a long term pain relief for patients.

Application: all kinds of backaches, disorders concerning ankle-, knee- or hip joints, varicose veins, disorders affecting the pelvis area, sleeping disorders

Duration: 5 to 10 sessions, once or twice a week
